Unlimited spaces and pages
Create as much content as your team needs with unlimited pages and spaces.
Here’s what a space looks like in Confluence.
Atlassian Intelligence (AI)
AI capabilities to help teams create value faster, turn insights into action, and communicate efficiently.
These include: Q&A in Search to provide relevant and reliable information, definitions of company acronyms and jargon, AI-powered editing experiences, and quick summaries of long pages.
Atlassian Intelligence (AI) features are not activated by default. Organization admins must opt-in to activate AI-powered capabilities for all teams. Learn more.
Space and page permissions
Assign, revoke, and modify space or page permissions to individual users, groups, or anonymous users. The Free plan doesn’t allow permission settings for spaces or pages.
Here’s what permission settings for a space look like in Confluence.
Macros
Macros add interactivity to your Confluence pages with extra functionality or dynamic content.
For example, use the Jira Issues macro to attach live updates of Jira issues, epics, and reports to a page. Or, use the Status macro to update your team on your project’s status.
Here are a few sample macros in action on Confluence.
Structured page tree organization
Organize the content in your pages easily with a hierarchy. Page tree hierarchies can make finding work quick.
Here’s what page trees look like in Confluence.
Page versioning
Track and view the history of changes to each page, compare different versions, and roll back to a previous version if needed.
Here’s what page versions look like in Confluence.
Template library
Use the template library for everything from product requirement documents to marketing plans. Or, create your own custom template.
Here are a few templates from the Confluence library.
Admin key
Admin key lets site admins diagnose problems faster with temporary access to restricted pages. Page authors receive an email when a site admin has used admin key to view or make changes to their page.
Here’s what an admin sees when using admin key in Confluence.
Announcement banner
Create and manage critical announcements to ensure important messages are seen where your teams are actually working.
Here’s what an announcement banner looks like in Confluence.
Analytics
Analytics lets you see user engagement and make more informed decisions with filters for the site, space, and page levels.
Here’s what the analytics overview looks like in Confluence.
Inspect permissions
Understand all active permissions for a specific user in one place so you can address issues quickly.
Here’s an example of inspect permissions in Confluence.
Team calendars
Share and embed team calendars. This can help teams communicate availability and stay organized.
Here’s what a team calendar looks like in Confluence.
Guests
For each paid user, admins can add up to five guests for no additional cost or licenses.
There are no limits to how many spaces you can share or how many guests you can have in each space. However, each guest is limited to a single space.
Here’s what a guest comment looks like in external collaboration in Confluence.
Automation
Build flexible rules to reduce manual tasks. Premium users have 1,000 rule executions per paid monthly user.
For example, a Confluence Cloud Premium site with 200 users will have 200,000 monthly rule executions each month.
Enterprise sites have unlimited automation executions.
Here’s what an automation trigger looks like in Confluence.
IP allowlisting
Bolster your team’s security by limiting your site access to trusted IP ranges.
Here’s what adding an IP address to the allowlist looks like in Confluence.
Multiple IdP

Audit logs for Confluence user activity
Comprehensive audit logging of user-initiated activity in Confluence, including permission changes.
BYOK encryption - EAP

Sandbox
Prepare, test, and experiment with products & apps before making changes to your live production environment.
The sandbox gives you a realistic understanding of what your new feature might look like or how it works when released for your users.
Number of sites
This is the number of sites (also called “instances”) you can license based on the subscription plan you choose.
One site is typically enough for most small to medium organizations because you can still have multiple pages on a single site for different teams to maintain their knowledge bases, workflows, etc.
Enterprise subscribers often opt for multiple sites, up to 150 per product, to:
- Offer organizational autonomy to independent brands
- Improve security through separating data by region or department
- Customize instances based on Marketplace apps, project configurations, and more
about instances in Confluence.

Encryption in transit and at rest
All customer data stored within Atlassian cloud products and services is encrypted in transit over public networks using Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2+ with Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS) to protect it from unauthorized disclosure or modification.
