Fastest way to stay supported
Purchase a Data Center subscription
Start your 30-day, fully functional free trial. Create a new trial license to get started with Data Center, or purchase a subscription.
Update to the latest version of Server
Upgrading to Data Center from an older version of server can be challenging, so we recommend that you first upgrade your products to that latest Long Term Support (LTS) release if you aren’t already on one.
Convert your Server apps to Data Center
If you have any Server apps installed on your instance, this is where you should upgrade to a Data Center-approved version of each app, where available. If you upgrade your Data Center product license before you upgrade your apps, they may stop working.
Upgrade your product license
Simply go to the admin section of your Server product, and enter your new Data Center license key. You can come back and set up clustering later if you need to.
Decide on a deployment configuration
Data Center can be deployed in two different ways: non-clustered or clustered. Both allow you to leverage enterprise features and capabilities, but each option has different considerations.
